'Bossfight' is the lead single from upcoming debut album ‘First Home’.

Produced by Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, ONIPA, Ego Ella May), the track is is a fiery interpretation of UK grime, featuring powerful horn arrangements set against a bouncing Trinidadian soca groove and breakbeats - a celebration of the many cultures and creeds represented in the ranks of the group.

The lyrics have a dual meaning, representing a collective anger towards towards governments and political classes that have sown hatred and division in society, plus the ongoing systemic racism and oppression experienced by POC’s across the creative industries and society as a whole in this country and around the world. The message is also meant to be introspective, with Pariss’ lyrics referring to the internal battle between the higherself and the Ego. The ‘Bossfight’ is against the higher powers and institutions of oppression and also against ourselves.

There's something about the composition, this kinda takes that AJE feel and smishes it into something a whole lot more...darker? Not really, it's got lightness, it's definitely got rhythm and it grooves, deeply, right into your soul. Love this album, think it's my favourite release so far this year. Not for now is an absolute earworm...be warned! Dajazzman
